This book analyzes the strategic positioning and educational needs of the Xiong’an New Area in China. It first constructs a theoretical framework for the synergistic development of higher education and the region, and explores the international experience of the synergistic development of higher education and the region. This book then examines the interactive relationship between the educational human capital, the knowledge and innovation system, and the economic and social development of the Xiong’an New Area, and proposes the planning and development strategies of higher education. Über den Autor

ZHOU Guangli is Dean of the School of Education, Renmin University of China. He holds the position of Director of the Evaluation Research Center at Renmin University of China and a Distinguished Professor of the Yangtze River Scholars Program appointed by the Ministry of Education of China. As Editor-in-Chief of Renmin University of China Education Journal (Chinese Edition), he has published over 200 academic papers and more than 20 monographs. He has also presided over more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects, including key projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In addition, he has been awarded more than 10 provincial and ministerial-level prizes, such as the Second-Class Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences by the Ministry of Education and the First-Class Prize for Higher Education Teaching Achievements of Beijing Municipality.
