Beschreibung
Biodiversity and Sustainable Growth
Strategies for Conservation and Natural Resource Management
This book explains how biodiversity is essential for sustainable development and how it can be protected while meeting human needs. It connects scientific knowledge with practical ways to manage natural resources, aiming to support both ecological health and long-term well-being. The chapters are organized into three parts. The first part explores the role and value of biodiversity in various contexts, including climate change, agriculture, urban planning, and the economy. It also looks at the causes of biodiversity loss and how to address them. The second part focuses on the conservation and management practices, including ecological restoration, invasive species control, community-based efforts, and nature-based solutions. The third part introduces modern tools and technologies, such as GIS (Geographic Information System), remote sensing, and artificial intelligence, that help monitor and protect biodiversity more effectively.
This book is useful for students, researchers, and educators in ecology, environmental science, and sustainability studies. It also supports policymakers, planners, NGOs, and professionals working in conservation, land use, and climate adaptation. By combining science, policy, and practical solutions, this volume of the ‚Sustainable Development and Biodiversity‘ book series offers clear guidance for anyone interested in protecting biodiversity and using natural resources wisely. It supports global efforts like the Sustainable Development Goals and biodiversity action plans, making it a valuable resource for those working to create a more sustainable future.
